Content Authenticity Policy

Content Authenticity Policy

WORN Content Authentication Policy
Effective Date: 02/26/2026
Applies to: useworn.com and all WORN mobile or web experiences
1. Purpose
WORN is a marketplace where user generated listings, photos, posts, and messages drive trust. This policy explains how content is expected to be represented, how WORN verifies authenticity signals, how users can report issues, and how WORN investigates and enforces violations. The goal is simple: listings and posts must be real, accurately described, and not misleading.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all content submitted to WORN, including:
A) Listings and listing media (photos, videos, descriptions, tags, titles)
B) Profile content (bio, username, photos, verification details)
C) Feed posts (wall posts, updates, comments, and media)
D) Messages and attachments
E) Any links or external contact attempts posted on WORN
3. Definitions
Authentic Content means content that is truthful, non-misleading, and reflects the actual item, service, or experience being offered.
Misrepresentation means content that creates a false belief about an item, its condition, origin, availability, pricing, or transaction terms.
Proof of Possession means verification evidence demonstrating the seller has the specific item being listed.
Synthetic or AI Content means images or media generated by AI or heavily altered such that it no longer represents the actual item.
4. Core Requirements
4.1 Truthful Representation
All listings and posts must be accurate and must not mislead buyers. You must not:
• Claim features, condition, or provenance you cannot support
• Use language that implies guarantees WORN does not provide
• Hide material details that would influence a buyer’s decision
4.2 Original Media
Listing photos must represent the actual item being sold, not a similar item. Stock photos, scraped images, “example photos,” or photos from other sellers are not allowed for listings. If you do not have the item in your possession, you must not list it.
4.3 No Impersonation or False Identity
You may not impersonate another seller, brand, or person, and you may not present yourself as affiliated with WORN or a third party in a way that is untrue.
4.4 No Off Platform Deal Steering
Posting content intended to move transactions off WORN undermines trust and dispute handling. WORN may remove posts or listings that include direct off platform payment instructions, external checkout links, or contact demands designed to avoid platform processes.
5. Listing Authentication Standards
To keep listings trustworthy, WORN expects the following baseline standards.
5.1 Photo Standards
Listing photos must:
• Show the real item being sold
• Be clear enough to understand what is being offered
• Match the listing title, category, and description
• Not be digitally altered in a way that materially changes appearance or condition
Allowed edits: cropping, brightness correction, minor background cleanup that does not change the item.
Not allowed: AI generated images, beauty filters that change color or texture, or edits that misrepresent wear, branding, defects, or sizing.
5.2 Description Standards
Every listing must accurately state:
• What the item is
• The condition in clear terms
• Any defects, damage, or notable wear
• What is included and what is not included
If the listing relates to intimate apparel or similar products, the listing must remain descriptive and commerce focused. Do not include explicit sexual content, explicit imagery, or content that violates WORN’s general content rules.
5.3 Prohibited Listing Practices
These are not allowed and will be removed, often with account enforcement:
• Counterfeit goods or unauthorized replicas
• Misleading “brand name” use for search or attention
• “Bait and switch” listings where the delivered item differs from the listing content
• Repeated relisting of removed items without changes
• “Placeholder listings” for items not yet owned or not ready to ship
6. Feed Post and Community Content Authentication
WORN feed posts must be truthful and must not mislead users about:
• Product availability
• Pricing or rewards
• Drop outcomes or odds
• Payment status, shipment status, or tracking claims
Posts that include screenshots of orders, receipts, shipping labels, or tracking must not expose sensitive data. Redact names, addresses, tracking numbers, and any identifiers before posting. WORN may remove content that reveals personal data, even if accurate.
7. Verification and Authentication Checks
WORN may use automated and manual reviews to enforce authenticity standards.
7.1 Routine Review
WORN may review listings and posts to identify:
• Duplicate images across different sellers
• Watermarked or stock imagery
• Category mismatches
• Repeated buyer complaints tied to a seller or product type
• Suspicious transaction patterns or delivery issues
7.2 Proof of Possession Requests
WORN may request Proof of Possession before allowing a listing to remain active or before allowing funds related actions. Proof requests may include:
• A new photo of the item with a handwritten code provided by WORN
• Additional angles of the item showing distinguishing marks
• Packaging photo prepared for shipment, with sensitive data not visible
• A short video showing the item, again with sensitive data not visible
Failure to provide requested verification may result in listing removal or account limitations.
7.3 Verification Badges and Labels
If WORN offers verification indicators, they represent a platform level signal based on available evidence and reviews. They are not a guarantee. WORN does not certify third party brands or guarantee authenticity of branded goods unless explicitly stated in a separate program.
8. Reporting and Dispute Intake
Users can report listings, posts, or accounts for suspected misrepresentation or inauthentic content.
8.1 What to Include in a Report
To speed investigation, include:
• The listing or post URL
• What is inaccurate or misleading
• Screenshots or message context
• Any proof of the delivered item differing from the listing
• Any attempted off platform payment request
8.2 Immediate Safety Actions
WORN may temporarily hide content or limit accounts while investigating if:
• There is credible evidence of fraud, counterfeit, or repeated misrepresentation
• There is evidence of prohibited content
• There is evidence of harassment, coercion, or doxxing
9. Investigation Process
When WORN investigates authenticity complaints, WORN may:
• Compare listing media to prior listings and known image sources
• Request Proof of Possession from the seller
• Review message logs and transaction records
• Review shipment and tracking context where available
• Request clarifying information from the buyer
WORN will prioritize repeat pattern signals, clear evidence, and high harm reports.
10. Enforcement
WORN enforces this policy with graduated actions depending on severity and history. Actions may include:
• Content removal or edits required
• Listing deactivation
• Temporary selling or posting limitations
• Messaging limitations
• Funds hold or payout delay while reviewing fraud indicators
• Account suspension
• Permanent removal from the platform
For serious violations, WORN may permanently remove an account without prior warning.
11. Appeals
If your content or account is actioned, you may request a review. Appeals should include:
• The relevant listing or post
• A concise explanation of why the action is incorrect
• Proof of Possession or supporting evidence, if applicable
Repeated abusive appeals or attempts to relist prohibited content may result in permanent enforcement.
12. Transparency and Limitations
WORN’s authenticity checks are designed to reduce fraud and misrepresentation, not to guarantee outcomes. WORN cannot physically inspect every item. WORN encourages buyers to review listings carefully, ask questions through messaging, and report concerns promptly.
13. Changes to This Policy
WORN may update this policy to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or community risks. Updated versions apply after posting with a revised effective date.
